Frequently Asked Questions

General

Toronto Tech Week is a weeklong citywide collection of events with a shared purpose to connect and celebrate builders, startups, and companies in the tech community. This is not a traditional conference – it’s a decentralized, open platform for anyone to join or host in-person events to globally showcase Toronto as a city where anything is possible to achieve.

Toronto Tech Week will take place between May 25 - 29, 2026. The majority of events will be in Downtown Toronto / GTA.

Toronto Tech Week is open to anyone interested in the Toronto tech ecosystem. The week is designed for Toronto, by Toronto, welcoming founders, builders, startups, investors, industry partners, tech professionals, students, and more who have a vested interest in the sector. Each event is independently hosted, meaning attendees can choose which events to attend and register separately — events may be free/paid, private/public, and have an age restriction. Please contact the independent event organizer for any questions about attendee eligibility. While the core focus is on Toronto’s tech community, it’s the best annual entry point for attendees from across Canada, the U.S., and beyond who have curiosity, care, and confidence in the future of Canadian tech.

Attending Events

Toronto Tech Week is an independently organized, community-led event. There is no single “organizer” but rather a network of tons of large and small community event hosts, partners, and sponsors who help make it happen. They’re empowered to host a wide range of event formats, such as panels, firesides, socials, dinners, demos, hackathons, open houses, and more. Toronto Tech Week’s platform is led by a local non-profit organization, Canada Tech Week Organization. Our core organizing team facilitates logistics, marketing, and ecosystem support, ensuring the week runs smoothly.

Toronto is a transit-friendly city! There are multiple ways to get around, including: - TTC Subway & Streetcars – The easiest way to navigate downtown Toronto. - Rideshare – Uber & Lyft are widely available. - Biking & Walking – Toronto has excellent bike lanes and pedestrian-friendly streets. - Parking – Limited in high-traffic areas. We recommend transit or rideshare for most events. Stay tuned for possible transportation discounts with our local transit partners.

Toronto Tech Week itself does not sell tickets, as each event during the week is independently organized. Each individual event host determines ticketing — some events are free, while others may require a ticket purchase. A selection of featured larger events and experiences from established hosts and Toronto Tech Week will also be taking place which will accommodate higher attendance numbers. As the Spring approaches, we’ll launch the official Toronto Tech Week calendar on Lu.ma and our website, where you will be able to find details on each event and how to RSVP.

Since Toronto Tech Week does not sell tickets directly, refund policies depend on the individual event organizers for each event you choose to register for. Please check directly with the event host for their refund policy.

Toronto Tech Week itself does not require tickets, as it is a decentralized event. However, some community members or individual organizers may host ticketed events. If you’ve registered for a ticketed event, any ticket transfers or related policies are managed by the event organizer. If transfers are allowed, please contact the organizer directly for details on their process.

Toronto Tech Week is a decentralized week of events, and while we are proud to support the community with tools, resources, best practices, and guidelines, Toronto Tech Week (Canada Tech Week) is **not responsible or liable for any events outside of the Homecoming event hosted by the Toronto Tech Week organizing committee.** Each event during Toronto Tech Week is independently hosted by its own organizer(s), who are fully responsible for the execution, logistics, and delivery to attendees. We are not involved in the planning or management of these events and do not assume any responsibility for their content, quality, or safety. By attending or participating in any event under Toronto Tech Week, you acknowledge that the host of that event is the sole party responsible for its operation.

All events must fall within the GTA. Keep in mind that the majority of events will be held in Downtown Toronto.

Please note that as your event falls outside of the 'official' window, we're happy to add it to the luma calendar, but we cannot guarantee additional marketing support if any events fall outside, as we want to support the many events happening during the week itself.

Each individual organizer is responsible for their own marketing initiatives. Toronto Tech Week helps to amplify the week through social media, our newsletter, website, and master calendar!

As an event host, you are responsible for your own event funding. We do not charge a fee to be listed under Toronto Tech Week, and welcome anyone interested in the Toronto tech ecosystem!

Because this is a week of decentralized events hosted by independent partners in the community, there will be multiple events running concurrently throughout the week with an expected 300+ events. With an expected 15,000+ folks, please feel free to pick an event date and time that works best for you.

All events will be listed on our Master Calendar at TorontoTechWeek.com

Public events will be shown on the master calendar. Private events will not be clickable to the general public.

We have a Venue Directory Please reach out to the venue contact for details. Note: Toronto Tech Week is not responsible for any of the venues listed, we’ve simply aggregated all offers into one place.

Thank you for your offer! Please submit the form here to have your space included in our Venue Directory.

While the Toronto Tech Week organizing committee provides the platform and resources for community-led events, it is highly recommended that all event hosts secure appropriate event insurance to cover potential liabilities related to their event. Event hosts are responsible for the planning, execution, and safety of their own events. Insurance can help protect against unforeseen circumstances, accidents, or damages that may arise during the event. Please note, Toronto Tech Week and its organizing committee are not liable for any incidents or claims and we cannot provide insurance coverage for individual events.

Search your email inbox for the subject line "Event Proposal Received! [Event name] ” to find your unique update link. Make sure that any changes are submitted there as well as reflected on your event page. Please note that changes are not instant and may take a couple of days to reflect on the website.

Submit your fully completed event form (venue, date, time, registration link etc..) Events MUST: - Have Toronto Tech Week as a visible co-host manager by adding contact@torontotechweek.com (applies to luma events) - Include TTW boilerplate  in the event description - Include our badge within your luma event photo or event description - Include the follow registration questions (First name, Last name, Title, Company, Industry, What city are you currently located in?, What country are you currently located in?) - Include a luma event cover photo that is unique to your event - Comply with our community guidelines Toronto Tech Week will not contact your attendees, share or access individual registration data. All attendee information remains private and confidential to the event host. Any information requested is used solely for aggregate reporting purposes.

We recommend using Luma. Luma allows hosts to add TTW as a visible co-host, so our name shows up as associated with the event, and allows us to pull all events into one master calendar. While you are welcome to use an alternative platform, your event may not be part of the website master calendar.

Our website and socials are a great place to start, and we have a community Slack Channel exclusively for event hosts. See our Event Host Resource Hub for more information
